As their first home my clients were keen to build to a budget without compromising on energy efficient features. The design brief was to create a space saving and compact floor plan comprising of three bedrooms, one bathroom, one ensuite and an open plan kitchen, dining and living area.

They requested an industrial design with lots of exposed timber and as a contrast black surfaces.

The open plan living featuring visible trusses and square shaped windows expresses the industrial design style perfectly.

• recessed thermally broken aluminium windows, double-glazed, LowE and Argon-filled

As the plot is part of a development, there were also a number of design restrictions and covenants to consider.
